Arte Fogata
Mission: Arte Fogata creates engaging art workshops for children and teens living in at-risk and disadvantaged circumstances.
Arte Fogata is a non-profit art workshop project started by Robert Aitchison in 2015. It is currently operating in La Paz, Bolivia.
Arte Fogata collaborates with existing organizations that operate in vulnerable communities, serving children susceptible to adverse social challenges such as homelessness, economic poverty, emotional and physical abuse, addiction, and trafficking.
Currently Aitchison and Arte Fogata operate in La Paz, Bolivia serving youth under the care of Fundación Alalay - a foster care program for children and teens.
Art workshops taught by Robert Aitchison, a Brooklyn, New York based artist, offer children the opportunity to explore creativity and art making in a fun, safe, nurturing, and positive environment. With over 20 years of working with children in diverse circumstances and populations Aitchison understands the integral role creativity plays in helping children overcome barriers to personal growth and transformation.

Colaboraciones
In 2023 the kids and I started an exciting series of artworks in collaboration. Working together we made vibrant, multi-layered paintings that explore and express our feelings regarding themes of community, connection and culture. The artworks incorporate my portrait-based images of local Bolivians along with diverse visual imagery that the kids considered important parts of the local environment of La Paz. Several of the works have been exhibited in New York City with plans for future public exhibitions in Bolivia (2025). ALL of these fantastic artworks are available for purchase with 100% of proceeds going towards funding more art workshops and art materiasl for participants in Arte Fogata. En 2023, los niños y yo comenzamos una emocionante serie de obras de arte en colaboración. Trabajando juntos hicimos pinturas vibrantes y de múltiples capas que exploran y expresan nuestros sentimientos con respecto a temas de comunidad, conexión y cultura. Las obras de arte incorporan mis imágenes basadas en retratos de bolivianos locales junto con imágenes visuales diversas que los niños consideraban partes importantes del entorno local de La Paz. Varias de las obras han sido expuestas en la ciudad de Nueva York con planes para futuras exposiciones públicas en Bolivia (2025). TODAS estas fantásticas obras de arte están disponibles para su compra y el 100% de las ganancias se destinará a financiar más talleres de arte y materiales artísticos para los participantes en Arte Fogata.
